What if God designed marriage to make us holy more than to make us happy? ~Gary ThomasIn one of the Psalms, King David writes these words to God, "
You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in
your presence, with eternal pleasure at
your right hand."
Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of Billy Graham, writes these words about one of the storms in her life:
"These storms of suffering have increased and intensified in my life because Jesus wants me
to soar higher in my relationship with Him--
to fall deeper in love with Him,
to grow stronger in my faith in Him,
to be more consistent in my walk with Him
to bear more fruit in my service to Him,
to draw closer to His heart,
to keep my focus on His face,
to live for His glory alone!"
When you live for God's glory, happiness isn't elusive. It doesn't fade in and out like the tides, but is a constant source coming from within.
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." ~Matthew 11:28
